I am drawn to observing people in their unguarded, relaxed moments and capturing these moments in oil paint. It is the intimacy of a person’s environment, however ordinary, and a point in time which will never be captured again, that I desire to depict on canvas.

Painting predominantly figurative works in a set environment I am inspired by the great impressionists, following their example of highlighting scenes within everyday modern life as being worthy and important.
